There was so much energy put into the comedy side of the film, that it purposefully took away from some of the more devastating plot points of the movie, giving me little time to let myself recover from some things. Waititi let his own weirdness flow into the film in almost every way possible, allowing for continuous moments of laughter and humour to keep me laughing through almost the entirety of the movie. The naturally funny Chris Hemsworth was no longer limited to being the sole vendor for cheesy, but dimwitted witty humour. Thor: Ragnarok did what some of the bigger franchise marvel movies were scared to do in the recent years. What followed in the next 2 hours made me feel complete in so many ways. It seemed like an eternity before November 2017 arrived, and when it did, I made my way to my local cinema to indulge in the latest MCU movie like i usually do, hot dog in one hand, drink in another. However upon the release of a few trailers, I was definitely open to believing that was about to change. That man is Taika Waititi.įollowing the disaster that was Thor: The Dark World, it felt like the stand alone movies for Point Break wouldn’t ever be able to redeem themselves. One director in particular, would take everything wrong with one said sequel, and turn that concept completely on its arse to deliver one of the most entertaining, and most satisfying movies in the MCU to date. More sequels were in the works for the original team of avengers, new Marvel characters were to be adapted to the big screen, and new directors would all be giving their all to showcasing one more addition to a universe that was ever expanding. The entire Phase 1 had aimed to build the foundations for which the following years would slowly expand on, and those aims were met fantastically, especially once everything concluded in Marvels Avengers Assemble. Since the initiation into Kevin Feige’s wonderful vision that is the MCU with Iron Man, Many of the instalments have enveloped audience members into some fantastic worlds and elements.
